Background
Casey was born and raised in South Tampa. She graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in Education. After her undergraduate studies, Casey entered the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1997. While attending law school, Casey was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida Criminology Department instructing senior level students in the subject area of Criminal Procedure. Casey received her Juris Doctor in 2000 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2001. She began practicing child advocacy law with the Department of Children and Families. Subsequent to relocating to Orlando, Casey served as General Counsel for the Orange County Center Against Domestic Violence. She was responsible for handling divorce, child custody, criminal injunctions and immigration cases for the residents of the domestic violence shelter. In 2003, Casey returned to South Tampa and currently practices in the area of Debtor's Rights and Collections.
